So, as some of you know, I was on a much needed and anticipated vacation last week. Destination? North Myrtle Beach, SC. - a place I've never been to. Being lucky enough to have family with a beautiful beach condo there, we were toured around to all the good places to eat, things to do, and best beach spots. Thought I'd give you a little insight on why I've been so short with the postings!

No, we're not engaged... yet... But I've been wanting some really great shots of us. It's a great idea for those short on cash, but really want some good engagement pictures (to send with announcements, display at the wedding, or just as a keepsake), drive out to a open beach spot during sunset (when people are less likely to be walking behind your photo session), borrow a friend's really nice camera, and get someone to start shooting. Get creative. For some inspiration, try checking out some local photographers images for posing ideas, or shots. This vacation just happened to be the perfect time. (Much thanks goes to Mr. M, my mom, and Cousin K for putting up with this and helping out!)

We took a day trip to Charleston, SC for some site seeing. Although I was slightly disappointed with what the city itself had to offer
for day-trippers (then again, we didn't really take any time to plan the day out), the city itself was so beautiful. On a paid rickshaw ride (a guy who pulls a cart on his bike for people to sit in- don't know how 3 of us fit!), we went down to The Battery, and saw the sites all within 20 minutes.
The estates that they have are gorgeous and line the streets! The great thing is that they don't have large land plots that go with them, so you can see the house up close. I believe one of the old SC governers lived in one... lots of history here, and a beautiful place to get married - on the water, in a mansion, and there are plentiful churches throughout the little town.

After a long day of walking around Charleston I needed a break. And you know if I hear about a place called
Cupcake I just HAVE to go... They definitely pile the icing on (not my ideal...) but it was GOOD. I opted for their best seller - the Red Velvet. They also make a supersized cupcake!
Overall, a great getaway. Glad to be back in Charm City, and getting everything back in order. More postings to come!
