Real Wedding - Onida and Daniel

Way back in August 2001, walking along the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights, NYC, Onida, a now high school math teacher, said "yes". Fast forward seven years, and her and Daniel, a guy with his plate full of teaching, coaching, and managing, finally set the date for a January 18th, 2009 wedding- a fusion of cultures and heritages, hers being Jamaican and Daniel's being Dominician and Puerto Rican. The theme was Golden Opulence and they wanted to use the warm metallic hues of gold, copper, and bronze with splashes of bright oranges and yellows.

The halter top, bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal were a classic light, almost champagne, shade that still let the wedding gown stand out.

Besides the metallic color, some bright yellows and oranges were used sparingly. Here, all the color resides in the bride's bouquet. It really stands off against the bright white of the dress. Flowers by Ann's Garden.

Although photographers usually have a list of pictures that are usually taken, if you have a special one don't be afraid to request it. Here, the round-ness of the window compliments the dress shape. Brides dress is from David's Bridal & Bansum Fashions NYC, and her shoes are Kate Spade.

Besides the flowers, Daniel wears the bright colors of the theme in his tie and boutonniere. Groomsmen attire from Men's Wearhouse. And who could resist the flower girl getting made up? Hair was by Richie B for Filthy Rich Salon, and make-up by Cookie Colbert.

The stationary, along with the font itself really gave a regal feeling with it's white and golden tones. By Chaya Chesner of CR Design Studio.

This picture really captures it all. Congratulations you two! Thank you for letting Charm City Bride get a peek of your special day!
